There are 4 types of parenting types
Authoritarian
Dictatorship, my way or the highway, "because I said so." Most abusers are authoritarian.
Permissive
Basically the opposite of authoritarian. Do whatever you want, no rules, parent tries to be a friend instead of a parent.
Neglectful
Don't care for their children at all. Doesn't know or care to know about their child's hobbies, interests, or life.
Authoritative (Democratic)
Child has a say in their life, but parent still sets rules and guidelines in the child's best interest.
With that out of the way, say it with me:
Any parental style, other than authoritative (democratic), can and probably will cause childhood trauma.
